This is the home page of the first meeting of the POLATOM ESF research networking programme, to be held in Chersonissos, Crete, Greece from May 2nd to May 6th, 2011.
The first meeting within our network will consist of a school (May 2 & 3), as well as a conference (May 4 - 6).
The basic goal of this meeting is to bring closer the two communities of cold-atom and polariton physics, to inform the scientists about interesting recent developments in these fields, and to explore possible links to nanotechnology.
The topics will include:
- Atomtronics & Polaritronics
- Dynamics of Polariton Condensation
- Nonlinear effects
- Superfluid properties
- Room-temperature polariton BEC
- Superfluid Fermi systems
Graduate students and post-doctoral researchers are especially encouraged to apply. There will be no conference fees. Accommodation for the applicants who will be accepted will be covered fully.
